JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – An officer with the Atlantic Beach Police Department lost her two dogs in a mobile home fire on the city's Northside late Monday night, authorities said.
Just after 11:30 p.m., the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department was called to home on Franklin Avenue near Hogan Street.

Barbara Sumrall, who was just weeks from retirement, was able to salvage many of her clothes, but the Police Department says her nephew, Wayne, lost all of his.
Any donations, including clothes for Wayne, who wears a size 5X and 44-by-29 pants, can be dropped off at ABPD located at 850 Seminole Road.
A GoFundMe page has also been set up for anyone wishing to contribute.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
