1 rescued from Westside apartment fire

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – One person was rescued from a fire at a two-story building on Jacksonville's Westside Tuesday, authorities said.

When crews arrived about 4 p.m., they found flames and smoke coming from home, which had been converted into apartments, on Woodstock Avenue, according to Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department.

Firefighters said one person was pulled from an apartment on the second floor and treated at the scene.

The State Fire Marshal's Office will be investigating the cause of the fire.
