Firefighters revive unconscious dog

No one home when fire broke out in Westside house

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Firefighters revived an unconscious family dog after a fire Wednesday night at a home on Lavendar Lane on the Westside.

Jacksonville Fire-Rescue got the call about the fire just before 7 p.m. and found heavy smoke coming from the house when they arrived.

During a search of the home, they came across the family's unconscious bulldog and were able to bring him back to life.

Two adults and two children live in the home, but none were at the house when the fire broke out.

Fire officials said the fire appears to have started in the rear of the house and left some damage to the home.

It took firefighters 10 to 15 minutes to get the fire under control.

Clay County Fire Rescue also responded to help fight the fire.
