Both are charged with burglary to a residence. Jackson is also charged with petit theft and has an outstanding warrant out of Washington County, Arkansas, for violation of probation.

The investigation began at 6:20 p.m. Tuesday when a deputy responded to a reported burglary on Porpoise Point Drive in St. Augustine. A neighbor, who took photos of the burglars in action, reported the burglary and gave a description of the two suspects to the Sheriff’s Office.

The witness saw the two men climb a fence, enter the porch and home of the residence and leave with a tackle box. Further investigation revealed that the suspects allegedly kicked open a rear door to gain entry into the home.

The responding deputy saw two men riding bicycles west across the Vilano Bridge who matched the description of the two suspects.

When he confronted the suspects, they admitted to stealing the tackle box because they were homeless and needed to catch some fish so they could eat.

Jackson was denied bond due to the outstanding warrant out of Arkansas. Lee’s bond was set at $5,000 following a first appearance hearing Wednesday morning.
