According to the FHP report, Stratton was traveling south on SR 13 in his Ford Explorer just before 10 a.m. and for unknown reasons crossed the center line into the path of an approaching truck, which was pulling a trailer.

Troopers said Stratton tried to correct just before the collision, but the driver's side front bumper and fender of the truck collided with Stratton's SUV, which flipped from the impact and landed on the west shoulder of SR 13 on its roof.

A St. Johns County deputy traveling in front of Stratton's SUV witnessed the collision in the rearview mirror of his patrol car, troopers said.

The driver and three passengers in the truck were not injured.

All traffic between Roberts Road and Greenbriar Drive was blocked  according to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office until nearly 2 p.m..

A GoFundMe account has been set up for Stratton.
