JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 24-year-old man is charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in connection with the shooting of two men in a Westside neighborhood on Feb. 11.

One of the victims died.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said Jacob Hill approached Watson Dorcet's home on Goldilocks Lane just after 6 p.m., where Dorcet and Hill got into an argument. According to the arrest report, when Hill pulled a gun and shot Dorcet in the head, a friend, Marcus Washington, who was standing nearby, took off running. Police said Hill chased Washington over a fence into an adjoining yard, where he shot the victim several times.

Dorcet was hospitalized, but recovered. Washington, 20, died at the scene.

Hill, who has numerous previous arrests, was arrested March 16 on a violation of probation warrant. The murder and other charges were filed on Hill on Monday.

Police said they were still looking for a witness to the shooting, Quintrell Stinson, who is wanted for questioning in the case.

Anyone with information about Stinson's whereabouts is asked to call JSO at 904-630-0500.
