JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 24-year-old man was found guilty Thursday night of first-degree murder, two counts of armed robbery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, the State Attorney’s Office said.
Antonio Lamar Atwater now faces life in prison, according to Duval County prosecutors.
In September 2012, prosecutors said, Atwater and two others approached and robbed two people outside an apartment complex on Art Museum Drive. After taking their money and belongings, Atwater shot and killed 16-year-old Ranod McKann, prosecutors said.
Atwater will be sentenced June 1.
