Armed man robs Gainesville Subway, deputies say

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A Gainesville Subway was robbed at gunpoint Thursday afternoon, the Alachua County Sheriff's Office said.

The robber, seen in surveillance photos, entered the restaurant on West Newberry Road about 3:30 p.m. armed with what appeared to be a silver revolver and demanded money from the cashier before leaving the restaurant on foot.

From the surveillance photos, the robber appeared to be a white man wearing a camo style ball cap, black or dark blue T-shirt, light colored brown patterned shorts that were knee length and dark colored shoes.
