Pastor Mark Griffin

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Jacksonville Republican Mark Griffin on Thursday became the fourth Republican to file paperwork to run for a Duval County House seat held by Democrat Reggie Fullwood, who was indicted last month on federal wire fraud and tax charges.

Griffin joined fellow Republicans Daniel Evans Jr., Darren Gardner and David Robertson in seeking the House District 13 seat, according to the state Division of Elections website.

Fullwood and Democrat Jacques Gaillot Jr. also have opened campaign accounts to run in the district.

Meanwhile this week, Republican Rick Roth filed paperwork to run for the House District 85 seat being vacated by Rep. Patrick Rooney, R-West Palm Beach.

Roth had earlier planned to run in Congressional District 18 but switched to the Palm Beach County state House race after Rooney decided not to run for re-election.

Others in the race are Republican Andrew Watt and Democrats Jay Rideout and Robert Simeone, according to the Division of Elections website.
