ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – A 53-year old Clay County man was arrested Thursday on charges of unlawful sexual activity with a minor in Duval County.
St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office detectives began the investigation about three weeks ago, when they say the mother of a 17-year-old girl discovered that her daughter had met the suspect on a social website and allegedly met him and had sexual activity on one occasion.

Detectives gathered enough evidence in the investigation and obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect Tuesday.
David Leonard Reed, 53, was booked into the Duval County Jail. The charge carries a bond of $105,000. Reed was found in Jacksonville on Wednesday and taken into custody without incident.
