Mayor Curry, Sheriff Williams respond to deadly Orlando shooting
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Mayor Lenny Curry's office has issued a statement in conjunction with Jacksonville Sheriff Mike Williams in response to the fatal shooting of 50 people and injury of 53 more in Orlando.
In that statement:
"While our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with the city of Orlando, it is an incredibly sad day for our nation. As local, state and federal agencies work diligently to serve and support the victims, families and communities affected by this morning's tragedy, the Sheriff and I have been in contact to determine how our teams can support their efforts. To promote our own safety, we continue to ask Jacksonville citizens to be aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious activity or behavior to JSOs non-emergency number."
