The homeowner, a 90-year-old woman, was outside filling up her bird feeders when she saw Smith naked inside her home, deputies said.

Smith was rummaging through her purse, MCSO said. When he saw her, he yelled at her and ran into the bathroom, the woman told deputies.

Smith left the restroom covered up in a towel and tried to hide his face from the homeowner, deputies said.

Shortly after, deputies located Smith on South Magnolia Street wearing small women's shorts.

MCSO said he stole $135 and a credit card from the woman's purse.

Deputies said Smith knew the victim's son but he did not have permission to enter the home.

He is now charged with occupied burglary.

Detectives also said Smith was a suspect in a domestic battery incident and that he stole clothing from an acquaintance the night before the burglary. He is now facing charges in those incidents.
