He purchased the winning ticket from Publix on Tuscan Way in St. Augustine.

Publix will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.

After cashing $100 he had won from other Scratch-Off tickets, Goldbranson decided to try his luck on a few more tickets.

“My wife and I were shocked to see it was a $1 million winning ticket,” Goldbranson said. “Buying a few extra Scratch-Offs really ended up paying off!”

The $25 game, $10,000,000 Florida Cash, features more than 11 million winning tickets and more than $624 million in total cash prizes. The game's overall odds of winning are one-in-2.88.

Scratch-Off games are an important part of the Lottery's portfolio of games, comprising approximately 67 percent of ticket sales and generating more than $632 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF) in fiscal year 2014-15.
