JEA restores power to customers on Southside

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – About 200 people were without power Sunday night on the Southside, according to JEA.

Crews were sent to the area of Kernan Boulvard and Beach Boulevard to assess the problem. JEA's website showed about 1,000 without power, but JEA told News4Jax that number is closer to 200.

JEA says the outage was caused by a transformer that shorted out. Power was restored shortly after 10 p.m.
