4 carjacking suspects in custody after Arlington chase

JSO: 4 teens, 3 cars involved, including 2 that were carjacked

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Four teens were taken into custody and arrested Thursday night after a police chase of two carjacked vehicles, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.

The teens -- Romark Buckman, 16, Marquez Mickler, 15, Kiontae Fowler, 15, and Daquan Strawter, 14 -- stole a Nissan Rogue on Wednesday night and then carjacked a newly bought Ford Explorer Thursday night.

The man said he was sitting in his driveway last night, after purchasing the car earlier Thursday, when he was carjacked.

The man's wife told police that she tracked the Explorer to a sporting goods store on Atlantic Boulevard, and police in that area spotted the Explorer and the Rogue traveling together about 8:30 p.m.

A chase then ensued after the suspects did not stop when police tried to pull them over on Monument Road near McCormick Road.

The vehicles went in different directions. One of the cars crashed into the median on Monument and McCormick. The second car collided with another car on Merrill Road, just east of Interstate 295.

Two teens ran from each crash, and all four were caught as they tried to run away, police said. All four teens are charged with carjacking.

The driver of the car hit on Merrill Road suffered minor injuries, police said.

One of the suspects also had minor injuries from the crash, police said.

Police said a third carjacking was attempted in a different area.
