Man injured in jump from 2nd floor balcony

JFRD says man was conscious when taken UF Health Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. – A man jumped from a second-floor balcony of a Jacksonville Beach home trying to do a back flip into the pool, but missed, hitting his shoulder and head, a witness told News4Jax late Monday afternoon.

A witness said the man's name is Deonte and fell into the pool after hitting his head and shoulder.

"He didn't come to until paramedics came," Brian Bang, said. 

Jacksonville Fire-Rescue said man was conscious when he was taken to the trauma unit at UF Health Jacksonville. Hospital officials said he was in fair condition.

The accident happened on 17th Avenue North at Third Street, just south of Fletcher High School.
