Man found guilty in pool hall attempted murder

De'Vanta Lamont Johnson shot at car in parking lot, police say

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – De’Vanta Lamont Johnson, 22, was found guilty Thursday in the attempted shooting at the West Side Pool Hall in August 2015.

Police said Johnson was in the West Side Pool Hall parking lot when a car drove past him, leaving the parking lot. Police said Johnson thought one of the people in the car was someone he had a dispute with, so he pulled out a gun and shot at the car several times.

Johnson got into another car and fled the scene, police said.

He is charged with four counts of second-degree attempted murder and one count of shooting or throwing deadly missiles.

He will be sentenced the week of Aug. 22.
