Jacksonville man charged with receiving, possessing child porn

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 47-year-old Jacksonville man has been charged with receiving child pornography over the internet and having it on his computer.

William Marion Patterson faces a mandatory minimum penalty of five years, up to 20 years in federal prison and a life term of supervised release if he's convicted of any of the three counts of receiving.

If convicted of either of the two possession charges, Patterson faces up to 10 years’ imprisonment, and a potential life term of supervision.

Patterson was arrested Friday at his Jacksonville home.

His arraignment and detention hearing is scheduled for Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in Jacksonville.
