JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Man who was charged with manslaughter in January 2014 was convicted Thursday, according to the State Attorney’s Office.

Marcus Earl Gray, 46, was found guilty of Manslaughter.

Gray arrived at a hospital in January 2014 with his girlfriend, 38-year-old Latasha Joyce, who was unresponsive.

On the day of the incident, the couple was inside Gray’s semi-truck parked in the Tri-Star Trucking lot. The couple got into a verbal and physical altercation that ended with Gray shoving the Joyce out of his truck and to the ground.

Gray drove away but returned shortly after to find Joyce unresponsive. Joyce’s injuries were the result of Gray running over her with his semi.

Gray put Joyce in his truck, drove home, put her in his other vehicle and took her to the hospital, where she died from her injuries.

Gray now faces 15 years in prison. He will be sentenced the week of Aug. 22.

Assistant State Attorney Janeen Kirch prosecuted Gray’s case.
