JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Museum of Science and History celebrates the 50th birthday of their beloved Apalachicola Alligator Snapping Turtle on Saturday - and you're invited.
Tonca has been the unofficial mascot of the Museum since 1994.
He only comes out of his pond for the public once a year, on his birthday.
The celebration will include games, animal encounters, and treats.
Tonca’s annual weigh-in and check-up will take place at 1 p.m. in the Wells Fargo Community Conference Room.
The event is free with paid general admission.
