Man charged with killing girlfriend, her uncle

2 killed July 7 in Southside mobile home park; suspect arrested in Georgia


JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man arrested Wednesday in south Georgia was returned to Jacksonville on Friday and charged with two counts of murder,.

Thomas Brown was taken arrested by U.S. marshals in Thomasville, Georgia, on a warrant out of Pennsylvania for robbery and probation violation. After he was interviewed by Jacksonville Sheriff's Office detectives, Brown was charged in connection with the deaths of  Amy Hatfield, 32, and her uncle, Robert Massey, 59.

The two victims were found dead July 7 in Massey's mobile home on Ascot Court, near the intersection of Hodges and Beach boulevards.

Police said Brown was Hatfied's boyfriend. She had been visiting from the Pittsburgh area.

Brown was returned to Jacksonville and booked into the Duval County jail at 6:24 p.m. Friday.
