ATLANTIC BEACH, Fla. – A man was rescued 1 mile off the coast of Atlantic Beach Saturday night after he was pulled out by the current.
Atlantic Beach police said the unidentified man went swimming at Jacksonville Beach around 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
While swimming, the current pulled the man toward Atlantic Beach, police said.
A fisherman rescued the man about a mile offshore and brought him back as close to the shore as the boat would allow. The unnamed man then swam back to land where he met with a lifeguard.
