1 hurt, 1 in custody after Westside convenience store robbery

Jacksonville police involved in short pursuit

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two people fleeing an overnight convenience store robbery got into a crash, leaving one of them in the hospital and a second in custody, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

 

Police said the incident started just before 2 a.m. Tuesday with the robbery of the Circle K gas station on Old Middleburg Road. When police arrived, the robber got into the passenger seat of the car, which sped away.

 

After a short pursuit ended in a crash on Ricker Road, one of the people in the car was taken the hospital and the other was taken into custody. It is not known if the driver or the suspect was injured.

 

Police have not identified those involved. It is not known how much, if anything, was stolen from the convenience store.
