Man convicted in 2015 Family Dollar robbery

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jonathan Thompson, 20, was found guilty this week in the armed robbery of a Westside Family Dollar store last year.

In April 28, 2015, Thompson entered the store on Firestone Road wearing a mask and holding a gun. He approached the checkout counter, pointed the gun at the clerk and demanded money. The clerk complied and Thompson took the money and fled the store on foot.

Thompson now faces a 10 year minimum mandatory and up to life in prison. He will be sentenced the week of Sept. 6.
