St. Johns County holding active shooter seminars for public

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office wants to help you prepare in the event of an active shooter incident.

It is hosting two seminars. The first event is Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall. The second will be on August 25 at 7 p.m. at Fruit Cove Baptist Church.

They are free and open to all ages. Parents are asked to use their best judgment as some of the videos and information could be hard for young people.

Sheriff Shoar launched the initiative three months ago to educate the public on what to do if they are ever caught in an active shooter situation.

RSVP by visiting the Sheriffs Office's Facebook page.
