JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – After a day-long investigation, Jacksonville police said it appears no child abduction occurred after an incident early Sunday morning in Northwest Jacksonville.

Investigators said they received calls about a young girl being placed into a grey Chevrolet Impala around 1 a.m. on Kings Road near Edward Waters College.

"They've gone door to door in the area, seeing if someone is missing, and they haven't come up with anyone," News4Jax crime and safety analyst Gil Smith said. "In a way, that's a good sign."

The child was described as an African-American girl between the ages of 7 to 10 wearing light-colored pajamas. Witnesses told police they saw a heavy-set man as well as a second man in the car.

As of Sunday night, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said all parties involved have been identified.
