2 adults, 1 teen charged in car burglaries

11 break-ins of unlocked cars in Flagler County

PALM COAST, Fla. – Two adults and a teenager have been arrested in connection with 11 car burglaries in Palm Coast, the Flagler County Sheriff's Office announced Monday.

The burglaries, which were reported in the “B” section of Palm Coast, happened early Sunday and all involved unlocked vehicles, deputies said.

Brian Cordell George, 18, Marcus Dijon McCormick, 20, and Lawrence Evans, 17, are facing charges in connection with the burglaries, police said.

George is charged with burglary, loitering and prowling, and resisting arrest without violence.

McCormick is charged with loitering and prowling, resisting arrest without violence, and violation of probation.

Evans is charged with 20 counts of burglary and one count of grand theft.

Deputies said a resident of Bayside Drive in Palm Coast called about 5:32 a.m. Sunday to report a car break-in. He said he confronted a man outside his home, and the man ran off.

Deputies responded to the area and a K-9 team helped track down two adults, who were arrest.

Additional investigation led deputies to arrest Evans at a Palm Coast home.

“This is just another excellent example of the community and the FCSO working together to combat crime in Palm Coast,” Flagler County Sheriff James L. Manfre said in a news release. “Although I am very happy we were able to arrest those responsible, I still cannot stress enough the importance of locking your vehicles.”
