Mom begs for safe return of her children

A warrant for Jarvis Brown's arrest for interference with custody was issued by police after he took the children June 22 for a vacation and did not returned them to their mother, Lakeisha Brown, investigators said.

Lakeisha Brown said Brown Sr. has family in Del Ray Beach and Jacksonville and has seen them as recently as two weeks ago.

“I know this is your nephew, your brother, your cousin, (but) he’s doing wrong, keeping a mother away from her kids,” Lakeisha Brown said. “I have not did anything wrong to him. He just needs to bring me my kids and I need y’all to feel my pain.”

Lakeisha Brown spoke with News4Jax Saturday morning, begging for the safe return of her four children. She said she is hoping the relatives of Brown Sr. will hear her and decide to help reunite them.

“I want my kids,” Lakeisha Brown said. “If they can hear me, I love them and I’m looking for them. I’m trying to bring them home."

"I want him to know that I need my kids back," she added. "I can’t eat. I can’t sleep without knowing that they’re OK. Just give me a phone call. Let them let me know that they’re OK.”

Lakeisha Brown said she and Brown Sr. agreed to have the kids returned before school started Aug. 8, but said Brown Sr. stopped returning calls and replying to text messages. Although the two were together for six years, they were never married and remained friendly for the sake of the kids.

“I will not stop trying until they’re home safe with me,” Lakeisha Brown said.
