PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. – A woman died and a man is in serious condition after a crash in Putnam County early Thursday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Ashley Sweeny, 30, died when Joseph Wright, 32, overturned his van on State Road 26 at 12:30 a.m.

Officers said Wright was traveling east on SR 26 when he overcorrected attempting to change lanes. Wright spun out across oncoming traffic and overturned the van. Wright’s van then struck a tree forcing the vehicle to spin again before coming to a stop.
Wright was taken to UF Health Shands for treatment.
