Man shot inside car on Westside

Hit in neck, expected to survive

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man sitting inside his car was approached by two men before one of them shot him, early Thursday morning, on Jacksonville's Westside.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the 20-year--old man was inside his car near North Melissa Court at 12:15 a.m. when two men approached the car. 

The man told police they told him to get out of the car and one of the them pointed a gun at him. The gun went off and hit the man in the neck. He was taken to Orange Park Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.

Police did not release his name and did not have any information about the two suspects.
