Mom pleads for answers after son shot at strip club

Robbie Reid Jr. undergoes surgery after being shot 3 times

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A mother was in tears as she pleaded for someone to come forward with information about who shot her son three times outside a Cedar Hills strip club early Wednesday morning.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, multiple gunshots were fired just before 2:15 a.m. in the parking lot of Bottomz Up on Blanding Boulevard

Investigators said Robbie Reid Jr. and four other men had been fighting in the parking lot. Shortly after the fight was broken up, a security guard said, a man pulled up in a white Nissan and shot Reid.

Regina Muhammad told News4Jax Thursday that she didn't find out about what happened to her son until about 4 p.m. Wednesday when she got a phone call from Reid's friends, telling her that he was in the ICU at Orange Park Medical Center.

"My firstborn child. Help me. Help me with my child," Muhammad said.

She said he was listed in the hospital as "John Doe." Muhammad said Reid is swollen, nearly unrecognizable.

"It was like a shock to me because I didn't think that was my son. I didn't even identify him until I got close up on him," Muhammad said.

Muhammad said that police have not been in contact with her and hopes that someone will fill her in on the investigation.

"For me to find out that my child got shot three times in the abdomen, the groin area. Two surgeries, can't close the wound. All I want to know is -- why?" Muhammad said.

The father of four is now fighting to stay alive.

"I need you, Lord. My child. Surgery this morning, surgery when he went in. My child," Muhammad said.
