Police said that before midnight on Wednesday Eberhart broke into two vehicles.
Officers said a witness called police when he saw someone smashing the window of a Buick and using a flashlight to see into the vehicle. The witness then saw the person, later identified as Eberhart, ride away on a bicycle.
When officers caught up with Eberhart later, they found him with a brown Louis Vuitton purse, a black Dell case with an iPad and books in it, two pairs of sunglasses, a phone charger, and some coins, police said.
Eberhart also had some marijuana on him.
He is in jail on $60,000 bond.
