Burglar climbs ladder to rob second-story condo, police say

Jacksonville Beach police say a person stole electronics from a condo Thursday

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. – Someone climbed a ladder to a second-story condo and stole electronics early Thursday morning, the Jacksonville Beach Police Department said.

Police said the burglary was reported on 1st Street North.

They said the burglar entered the condo through an unlocked door on the second floor balcony.

Several electronic items were taken, but recovered on the ground below, police said.

A surveillance image released by police shows a suspicious person that was in the immediate area during the time frame, JBPD said.

Police added that as a public safety reminder, they are asking residents to remember to lock their doors and to secure their windows, even if they are on a second story of a structure. They also reminded residents to lock their vehicles and remove valuables from them.
