What do you see as the top three issues in this race?
1. The economy. Seeking and bringing new jobs and opportunities to the District. Salary increases for our state employees. Natural resources, protecting the natural resources of the area, however, expanding the use of the resources, springs and rivers, to develop ecotourism for the area, a job source. 2. Education. Putting education back into the hands of the front line personnel, the teachers and local administrators. Allowing the teachers to do what they have been trained to do, teach subject matter, not standardized testing. 3. Transparency in government. Curtailing the theme of adding exemptions to Government in the Sunshine and Public Records Act. Government is for the people, and must be open to the people.
How can you help voters in a way that others running for this office cannot?
Having been a practicing attorney for the past 26 years, I am familiar with the law as well as the legislative process. As a trained mediator, I have the ability to work with people to resolve problems in the most favorable way. No other candidate has this experience and training. In addition, I will be accessible to the people. I will personally answer their calls and listen to their concerns. I will work one on one with local government officials.
What would you hope to be remembered for accomplishing after serving in this office?
I want to be remembered for being a man of my word, being an accessible representative, willing to meet and speak with the people, and taking their ideas and problems to Tallahassee.
