At this time, it is unclear if the SWAT standoff was related to the shooting. JSO Public Information Officer, Melissa Bujeda reported there were multiple in the home when the SWAT team responded.

"As to who it was, what they’re going to be charged with, we’re still working through that. We just got the people out of the house. There’s going to be interviews, there’s going to be a lot of talking that has to take place to determine what exactly occurred and if there is some kind of connection," said Bujeda. "The aggravated battery unit is involved, the Sheriff’s Office cold case team is involved. There’s multiple calls that happened here tonight and we’re trying to figure out if they’re all connected, so each unit that is involved in that specific incident is involved until we can either figure out that its separate or figure out that its together."

The SWAT standoff ended after several people in the home surrendered. Upon searching the home, officers were able to find one other individual in the home.

Bujeda said the neighbors in the area may have heard a lot of chaos throughout the night and as they were waking up. However, JSO did secure a perimeter and is working to re-open the streets and allow traffic to flow.
