San Mateo, FLA. – A 57-year-old man was killed when the truck he was driving hit a concrete divider in a construction zone.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was driving his Ford Ranger south through the construction zone on U.S. 17 in San Mateo when it hit a concrete divider. The truck then went across the northbound lane of U.S. 17 before hitting a concrete container wall head on.
The driver, who has not been named, was not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown through the front windshield. The man died at the scene.
The investigation is still ongoing.
