Lake City police arrest paint store robbery suspect

Surveillance video key to arrest

Lake City, FLA. – A man who robbed a paint store at gunpoint was arrested early Saturday morning, according to the Lake City Police Department.

Vincent Nerosharone Lewis, 38, was identified through surveillance images, police said.

The robbery occurred Tuesday at Richardson Paint Store on NW Madison Street in Lake City.

The robber entered the store, pointed a handgun at the owner, stole the owner's wallet, cellphone and cash.

Police collected surveillance videos and released a clip on social media.

The suspect was wearing what appeared to be a white shirt wrapped around his face, but one video showed his face before he covered it.

"Our team has made solving this case a priority," Chief Argatha Gilmore stated in a press release. "Thanks to their dedicated effort and the teamwork with our partner agencies, less than a week later we have the suspect behind bars."

Lewis is charged with robbery, grand theft, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

He was booked into the Columbia County Jail on $350,000 bond.
