ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – A Newberry man was killed when his truck veered off of US-27 in Alachua County and hit a tree late Saturday night, Florida Highway Patrol Investigators said.
Tracy Eugene Tindall, 48, was alone in a Ford 150 pick-up truck when, for reasons unknown, he drove into a sloped shoulder and side-swiped the tree, according to FHP.

Troopers said he had been heading north on US-27, four miles south of Newberry. The crash occurred at 10:45 p.m.
Tindall died at the scene.
He was not wearing a seatbelt, troopers said.
