2 injured, students unhurt in Clay school bus crash


CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – Two people were injured, one seriously, in a crash Monday afternoon involving a school bus and a pickup truck in Clay County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

None of the 21 students onboard the bus were injured in the accident that happened just after 2 p.m. on County Road 218 at Old County Road, troopers said. 

The school bus was slowing down for the next step when a Chevrolet Silverado collided with the rear of the bus, according to the incident report.

The driver of the pickup was transported to St. Vincent's South with serious injuries and one of the passengers was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, troopers said.

The second passenger in the pickup was unhurt.
