JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A pedestrian was hit and killed early Monday morning on Lee Road, off Atlantic Boulevard just east of Regency Square, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Officers arrived about 1:20 a.m. and found the pedestrian in the northbound lane of Lee Road. Jacksonville Fire-Rescue pronounced the man dead.

Traffic homicide detectives said a Chevrolet Impala was traveling north on Lee Road Lone Star Road and Atlas Drive when the pedestrian was struck. Officers report the driver stopped and that man and his passenger were cooperating with the investigation.
There were no witnesses to the crash on scene.
