Seeking to keep a large majority in the Legislature, the state Republican Party in recent weeks has made tens of thousands of dollars in in-kind contributions to Southeast Florida House members who face Democratic challengers, according to newly filed finance reports.

From Aug. 26 to Sept. 2, the party provided $19,057 in in-kind aid to Rep. Gayle Harrell, R-Stuart, for her campaign in House District 83; $18,550 in in-kind aid to Rep. Manny Diaz Jr., R-Hialeah, for his campaign in House District 103; $18,550 in in-kind aid to Rep. Carlos Trujillo, R-Miami, for his campaign in House District 105; and $16,089 in in-kind aid to Rep. George Moraitis, R-Fort Lauderdale, for his campaign in House District 93, the reports show.

Almost all of the in-kind aid was for polling.

The Florida Democratic Party, meanwhile, provided $7,744 in in-kind assistance from Aug. 26 to Sept. 2 to Ivette Gonzalez Petkovich, who is running against Diaz in District 103.

That aid came in the form of campaign staff, according to the reports posted on the state Division of Elections website.
