ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – A St. Augustine man died Wednesday night after he was hit by a car, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Matthew Metcalf, 30, was attempting to cross the westbound lanes of State Road 16 near Four Mile Road just after 10 p.m. when the driver of a 2004 Kia Spectra hit him and killed him at the scene.

The driver of the Kia is a woman from Palm Coast. She was transported to Flagler Hospital with minor injuries.
FHP reports the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
