JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A driver was airlifted to UF Health after striking a power pole on the city's Northside Thursday night, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.
The single-car accident was reported about 8 p.m. on Cedar Point Road at Gate Road.

According to detectives with the Sheriff's Office Traffic Homicide unit, the car struck a power pole, knocking out power, and then the car went into a creek.
The driver was airlifted with life-threatening injuries, police said.
JEA crews were called to restore power to the area.
