GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A man was hit and killed by a car Thursday morning in Gainesville.
Florida Highway Patrol said the accident happened on U.S. Highway 441 at Southwest 47th Lane just before 3 a.m.

The car was driving south on U.S. Highway 441 in the outside lane when Eddie Foreman, 56, began to cross the southbound lanes, FHP said.
Foreman walked into the road when the car struck him, troopers said.
FHP said the Foreman was projected forward in the outside lane. The driver did not suffer any injuries.
Foreman was pronounced dead on scene, troopers said.
Troopers said Foreman's family has been notified.
