JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – After a reported kidnapping Saturday evening, Jacksonville police determined the incident did not happen.
Police said a witness told them they saw someone putting a boy between eight to 10-years-old into the backseat of a pickup truck, forcibly.
The witness told police it happened in a parking lot near University Christian School. Investigators looked at surveillance video from a nearby business. It appeared there was a truck (pictured above) in the parking lot matching the description of the one given, but said it did not appear foul play was involved.
"We saw children playing around the truck, they get into the truck, they leave," said Sergeant Dan Janson with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. "They obey all the rules of the road and head eastbound."
Police canvassed neighborhoods nearby and found no reports of missing children.
