YULEE, Fla. – A woman is in critical condition Sunday after being struck by an SUV as she was trying to cross the street, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Jennifer Keifer, 23, was crossing Chester Road near Starfish Drive in Yulee around 1:20 a.m. when she was struck by 24-year-old Dakota McDavitt.

Keifer was transported to UF Health Jacksonville.
Troopers said Keifer had been drinking prior to the incident.
