An officer with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office was involved in a crash in Mandarin late Sunday night.
The officer was en route to an emergency call at 10 p.m. when he collided with another driver at the intersection of Old St. Augustine Road and I-295.
The officer was transported to Baptist South hospital as a precaution and was released shortly after.
The other driver was not injured.
It was raining in the area at the time of the crash and JSO will look into whether that was a factor.
"It's a mess down there with the rain and all," said Mike Senterfitt with JSO.
He said it's also a construction zone which can make it confusing.
The vehicles were seriously damaged but Senterfitt emphasized no one was injured.
