Nassau County man found guilty in 2015 stabbing

NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. – A Nassau County man was found guilty Tuesday afternoon in a stabbing from 2015, the State Attorney's Office said.

Jason Powell, 39, was found guilty of first-degree attempted murder and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

The State Attorney's Office said Powell and the victim got into an argument at a Nassau County bar in April 2015.

After the two left the bar, Powell drove to a parking lot, where the victim was found and ran over him. The State Attorney's Office said Powell got out of his truck and stabbed the victim in the throat.

Powell faces up to 45 years in prison. The State Attorney's Office said he is scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 17.
