St. Augustine burn victim flown to Gainesville


ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – A person was flown from St. Augustine to UF Health Shands Gainesville with serious burns Friday, according to St. Johns County Fire Rescue.

The burn injury was reported on Sargent Tutten Drive in St. Augustine, and crews responded about 2:15 p.m. Friday.

They found one patient suffering serious burn injuries, and paramedics treated the patient and prepped the patient for transport via helicopter to Gainesville's burn unit.

The cause of the injuries are unknown, but SJCFR investigators will work with the State Fire Marshal's Office and law enforcement to determine the cause.
