SJCSO: Mother with children rear-ends deputy's unmarked car


ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – A woman with children in her car rear-ended a St. Johns County sheriff's deputy's unmarked car Tuesday morning, according to the sheriff's office.

The woman, the two children and the deputy all suffered minor injuries, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.

The crash was reported just before 8 a.m. on U.S. 1 south at International Golf Parkway in St. Augustine.

According to the FHP, Deputy Spencer Craven, 34, slowed for traffic in his unmarked St. Johns County patrol vehicle and was rear-ended by a car driven by 31-year-old Donielle Wells. Wells had a 10-year-old girl and a 7-year-old girl in her car. All three were taken to Flagler Hospital with minor injuries.

Craven was taken to Baptist South with minor injuries.

Wells was cited for careless driving.
